Which Game Show Did You Like Best?

I'm a child of the 70s and 80s and if there was one TV programme genre that dominated much of TV back then, aside from soaps that is, then it were game shows! There were loads of them and they made great Saturday night family viewing - not to mention Sunday teatime viewing in all!

I'm asking you all which were your faves but the truth is I couldn't tell you which I liked best. I thought they were all fab! Haha! The Generation Game, Play Your Cards Right, Blankety Blank, The Price is Right... They all bring back great memories. It's sad that many of the people who hosted these shows are no longer with us. They were all great entertainers.

So were you a fan of game shows and which did you enjoy the the most?

Hopefully there'll be uploads available where you can refresh your memory! 😊

Anyone a fan of Blind Date?

I'm not sure if this falls under the quiz show category but I just wondered how many people on here used to watch Blind Date? For those of you who live outside of the UK, you may have had your own version of the show - where someone has to pick a date by listening to the replies to his/her questions given by three contestants hidden behind a screen.

Blind Date started in the mid 80s but ended around late 90s I think (don't quote me on any of that!) All that I do know for sure was that it was hosted by Cilla Black, was an absolute hoot, and made for great Saturday night TV. As I got older I used to watch it while putting on my make up to go out.

I've actually been watching old clips/episodes of Blind Date and it's still hysterically funny. Not to…

I was about 13 when Blind Date ended but I remember it being a laugh. My nan, mum and aunts, well a lot of my family were addicted but I reckon that by the time the 2000s came around, their interest in the show started to fade a bit.

I did watch the new-look show when it was hosted by Paul O'Grady and I liked it a lot. I especially liked that they also featured same sex couples which the previous show didn't. I know the Blind Date reboot wasn't as popular because most people preferred the older format with Cilla Black. But because I hadn't watched it as long as many others, I didn't have a particular attachment and was able to watch Paul O'Grady's Blind Date with fresher eyes I suppose.

Johnny Vegas On Win, Lose or Draw

Did anyone ever see the episode of British game show Win, Lose or Draw where a then unknown Johnny Vegas made an appearance?

Johnny appeared under his real name, Michael, but I remember him telling the host (can't remember who it was) that he was a comedian and that he performed under the stage name Johnny Vegas.

At the time I remember thinking that was the cheesiest name ever and I didn't think he'd hit the big time.

Good job I didn't put money on it. Johnny, I'm sorry. So very, very sorry!

Aw, I love Johnny so I'd love to see that episode. A lot of people say that my husband looks like a slimline version of Johnny! Hehe! I also remember the show Win, Lose or Draw but remember exactly how the show worked so will need to see if there's any episodes floating around out there!
