2026 Nostalgia Pie's Retro Reads Book Club Begins (And We Know We've Taken Our Time About it!)

The Retro Reads Book Group is back! We realize that we were very quiet last year but now our online reading group has returned at we are raring to go.

As we are still debating what should be on the reading list for 2026, we've decided that we will announce each read prior to each book group meeting so that you can start your new read as soon as you've put the previous one back on the bookshelf.

As we're starting over, we thought we'd revisit Erich Segal's Love Story which we think is just perfect for the month of February. We're starting this read now but the book group meeting - the first of this year - will not be until Sunday March 22nd 2026 at 1pm EST.

How It Works

Once the title has been announced, you have roughly two months to read the novel before taking part - if you wish -in the online book group live meeting which usually lasts an hour. The meeting takes place on this site on our soon to-be-created Retro Reads Room. Many of you who have participated before will remember this used to take place on our groups feature but as Groups has now effectively become the new forum, we thought we'd create a separate space for the Retro Reads Reading Group.

If you are unable to join the live book group meeting, you still have around two months to post your views. Comments and posts regarding each book will be deleted before the beginning of the next book group meeting.

Become a Member

The Retro Reads Group page is private so in order to join in the fun, you'll have to become a member (it's free!) Being a member means that you'll also be able to gain access to any available free resources.

Anyone who has been approved as a member will be invited by Nostalgia Pie to join the book group. Alternatively members can request to join and wait to be accepted.

So there you have it - what could be more simpler!

AND FINALLY...

Remember that we are hosting a book group and NOT necessarily a reading challenge - well not unless you want to challenge yourself! There are no prizes. You will not win a holiday for two or briefcase full of cash presented by a glamourous young lady. Instead you win by knowing that you've read at least one great novel in the year! So you can read all the titles that have been selected or just choose the books that appeal to you.

The first novel, Love Story by Erich Segal will begin 1st February 2026 with the the Q&A session on 22nd March at 1pm (EST)
