Who Ate All the Nostalgia Pies?

​

Not everything is as it says on the tin. We might sound as though we’re all about old-fashioned pastries but we’re not (although you will indeed find recipes and posts about the history and origins of old-fashioned pastries here!) Neither are we about maths lessons in days gone by (then we would be called Nostalgia Pi!) And neither are we about the literary works that tell the tale of a boy and a tiger who are stranded on a lifeboat (because then, once again, we would be Nostalgia Pi!) And finally we have no connection to a historical British electronics company (Nostalgia Pye!)

This Nostalgia Pie serves up generously-sized slices of all that is nostalgic, vintage and retro,

with lashings of warm vintage charm; a delicious dash of retro magic, and a sprinkling of

quirky humour. We'll have you reminiscing so much, you'll need to change your name to

Mary J. Blige!

So I suppose, in some ways,  we are what it says on the (pastry) tin after all!

What’s This Nostalgia Pie Malarkey All About?

 

So glad you asked! We are a nostalgia site

that dwelves into all that is deliciously retro

from the 1960s-1990s (what we refer to as

the Nostalgia Pie years) - with a dash of the

noughties too because, well… why not! Books,

movies, fashions, the tunes we used to dance

our little cotton My Little Pony socks off to;

to the toys we used to nag our parents to

get us for Christmas, to family traditions we

remember fondly… you’ll find them all here.

 

Our nostalgic offerings include:

• A Blog - If Nostalgia Pie was a West End production, then our blog would be the star of  the show! It is choc-full of thoughtfully-curated content to bring you the best of the 1960s-1990s.

• A Forum - The Nostalgia Pie forum is where it's at! Our vibrant hub where you can connect with your tribe - this is your space to share stories; ask questions, reminisce and have meaningful discussions.

• An Online Reading Group ​- Where we dive into retro reads books that are as comforting as a cup of tea and a biscuit! Meeting every two months via our group page, it’s a wonderful opportunity to connect with others through the shared love of classic literature and obscure though wonderful retro reads.​

​​Our Story​​

                                                      The site’s founder, Angel DeNoire is a retro and                                                          nostalgia enthusiast, who wanted to create a                                                            welcoming, nostalgic space where time-                                                                  travellers could experience connection and                                                              community. So she came up with Nostalgia Pie! 

 

                                               The Nostalgia Pie story began with an idea back in                                                   2011 just outside Portland, Oregon. It was borne                                                     out of homesickness; nostalgia; endless reminiscing,                                                   and cries of “Oh my gosh, I REMEMBER THAT!!!”

                                               And not forgetting that countless plates of Sara Lee                                                 fruit pies played a pivotal role which in itself is nostalgic enough (“If at first you don’t succeed…” - If you know, you know!)

 

But the first post wasn’t written until a year later in Bournemouth, UK and so began the trans-Atlantic connection. These memories weren't just fun to talk about. They sent us on a time-travelling journey to simpler, less stressful times that we remembered with a great deal of fondness, proving to be a source of comfort, connection… and much laughter! Between forkfuls

of pie and old TV shows, an idea was beginning to form in Angel's head - and for onec it was something sensible! The idea was to create a space where people could come together in order

to relive the magic of their childhood; teen years and early adulthood. From the iconic fashions of the sixties to the pop classics of the eighties, we're here to celebrate EVERYTHING that

was great about these decades!!!  

 

And so Nostalgia Pie was created; a cozy retro haven where we celebrate the moments and memories that have shaped our lives and continue to bring us joy. Through engaging articles, personal anecdotes, and community discussions, we aim to create a space where everyone can relive the magic of their favorite memories.

 mission is: to celebrate all that was great about

 life back in the day; create a vibrant, supportive

 community where people can find joy and

 connection through a shared love of all things 

 retro, and support meaningful causes that are

 aligned with our values. We live in a world that

 can sometimes (but thankfully not always) overwhelming and disheartening. During such         gloomy times, it's important to grab joy and tranquility wherever we can... and if it just     so happens to be in the form of nostalgia - then so be it!!!

We don't just celebrate the classics and the mainstream but we also like to explore the obscure; highlight the global alongside the local. While we have a strong British base, our love for nostalgia knows no borders, and we pay homage to the international influences that made an impact on British entertainment and pop culture during the sixties through to the nineties. We hope this ensures that most people,no matter where they’re from, will feel at home here.

We’re not just reminiscing about the good old days; we’re bringing them to life in fresh, exciting, interactive ways. Never mind Ramsay Street - It's Nostalgia Pie that's the perfect blend!

 

We also aim to provide our followers with a safe and

cozy space where only happy vibes allowed. Any talk

that is politically fuelled or hate filled will not be

tolerated here. Or you might just get a pie in your face

- which would be a waste of good pie!
