I came across this article that reminded me of choccy bars we used to get at home. I do miss many of these. The ones I'd like to see come back again are Marble, Secret, Moments and Poppets.
Are there any chocolates/sweets from your childhood that are no longer available but you would love to have back?
I did like those Echo bars. They were very tasty with a lovely biscuity base. I don't believe it was there for very long but it was there long enough to make an impact with quite a few people, and I did enjoy them. Used to take them to school for a break time snack!
Do Revels still exist? I'm sure I haven't seen them in a long time. Or maybe they're not being stocked up everywhere. But I quite liked those. I liked that you never quite knew what centre you were going to get.
They stopped Topic this year which me and my mum really liked. That's been around for yonks and then they decide to stop making them! So they can bring back Topic for a start.
I'm a big fan of white chocolate and while I'm lucky that we still have lots of white chocolate bars around, Snowflake and Dream are two that I miss that I would love to see make a come back.
There are quite a few that I'd like to see back on shelves but I'll tell you what I want, what I really, really want and that's for chocolate to taste how it used to. Not that awful synthetic stuff that we get these days because manufacturers want to reduce costs (to themselves!) And while we're at it, can we also have them back to their original size??? They're more like funsize bars now and look at the price!
I think we can all agree that the size and quality just aren't what they used to be. It's odd thinking that there are young 'uns today who don't know what real chocolate is supposed to taste like. It's such a shame that cutting back on costs have meant cutting back on quality.
Does anyone remember a chocolate bar called Bitz? They came in two flavours, mint or orange, and there were crunchy sugary 'bitz' dispersed throughout the chocolate bars. I really liked them - though I'm sure my teeth hated them!
I do remember them but I have to say I weren't mad keen on them. It were those sugary pieces I weren't that keen on. I think I may have only tried them a couple of time but Bitz weren't for me. Sorry Sherbette!
Oh really? I don't remember there being a third flavour. 🤔 I'll need to check that out. I do hope it was raspberry as I think raspberry and chocolate is a great combo! 😊
Never mind what to bring back, I'll tell you what they can take away forever. That disgusting Bounty. No idea who eats that! And in its place we can have Snowflake. And without Anthea Turner and all!
Oh and can we also return chocolate bars to the size they were in 1985? With the price to match as well.
Oh Anthea Turner will never be able to live down Snowflake-gate, will she! Though I have to say, I do quite like a Bounty. Thank goodness they're still with us. For now anyway.
Golly! Where do I begin! There's loads I'd like to see comeback. Banjo for starters. Marble was also pretty good. I liked Spiro. And I don't know if this counts as a choccy bar or a chocolate but I wouldn't mind seeing Trio back again.
Though I had no idea that Milky Way crispy rolls were no longer with us. I clearly haven't had a craving for them or I would of known.
I know years ago there was a Facebook group who's aim were to bring back Banjo. I don't know if it's still active. Obviously we still don't have Banjo back. But they brought back Wispa so who knows!
