Hello. Nice to meet you all. My name is Madame Bo. Well it is on here anyway. I'm in my forties, I work in mental health and am a single mum of two. I actually had my kids quite far apart so at an age where a lot of my friends are having grandchildren, I'm having to do nappies and sleepless nights all over again. But seriously I wouldn't have it any other way.
I've lived in Australia for more than twenty years but I'm actually from London. That's one of the reasons why I'm so glad that I found this site because it reminds me of the years I spent growing up in England during the eighties and nineties. It's something I can show my kids so they can have an idea of what Mum's life was like back in the day. I would say that the nineties were the most fun for me and I remember that time with a lot of happiness. Too bad I can't go back.
You should visit whenever you can but I know it's a bit difficult right now with all the madness that's going on. But I know you won't be disappointed. It's a beautiful country and I'm so pleased that I get to call it home.
Hiya madame! Wowie Australia! I've yet to visit but I wouldn't mind living there myself. I'm a northern girl and not used to much sunshine so I wouldn't pass up the chance to live somewhere with better weather! 😄
Enter Selecta!
Hi Poisson Rouge. You know it makes sense! Thank you for your nice words. That's so kind. 😊
Re-Re-Wind... When the crowd say Bo, Selecta!
Hi Madame Bo! As you can tell I do love a bit of the nineties myself. But then having been born in the nineties, I would!
I really take my hat off to you being a single mum with a young child and a mental health worker as well. And as youre an expat like me, I can tell youre living a life rich in experiences. Go on, girl!
Keep up the great work. The work you do is invaluable to so many.
Good to meet you Madame Bo. I grew up in the nineties. It's when I became a teen. There were a lot of great things about the nineties for me.
Hello Madame! Like you I'm a big fan of the nineties too. It's when I returned to Britain after having lived abroad for so long, and the next chapter of my life began. And you've pretty much done the reverse of that but no doubt it was a new chapter for you as well when you arrived in Australia to start your new life. 😊
Hey Madame Bo. Great to have you here. My best friend works in mental health also and I just want to say that you guys do an awesome job. I love travel but I've yet to visit Australia. I should because I have some wonderful Australian friends, and two of them have returned home so a visit over there would be really cool.
I have visited London though, and I loved it!
Hello Madame Bo. Cool name! How lucky you are to be living in sunny, laid back Oz! I visited what seems like a long time ago now so a visit, when all the madness is over, is long overdue.
Hello Madame Bo and welcome. Hope life in Australia is treating you well my fellow London girl, and that you're enjoying being a new mum. I'm pleased that there's so much that you can relate to on this site and that you can show your kids how it was back in the day. I wouldn't mind a trip back myself. If only it was possible!
When the nineties ended I had just entered my teens. So the nineties were my childhood years and a very special time for me.
Always exciting when there's a new member for us to get to know. Welcome Madam Bo 😀
Hello and welcome Madame Bo. Always nice to see a newcomer. I'm in my forties as well and my two are relatively quite young but I know what you mean about our age group becoming grandparents because that is something that I'm seeing. And while I think it's a wonderful thing to become a grandparent, and I very much look forward to that happening one day, I'm glad not to be one now!
