So I watched this video and it got me wondering if anyone especially young people still go clubbing now. I was a teenager in the nineties and as soon as we were allowed into clubs that's what we did. It was a big part of British youth culture. I enjoyed my time clubbing even though it wasn't something I did all the time. But every now and then I liked to go clubbing with my friends and it was always a lot of fun. But there's a lot of clubs closing and I personally don't know a whole heap of people who still go to clubs. It's sad if nobody goes anymore because I think it's something that everyone especially young people should experience. You're only young once and all that jazz.
So if people don't go clubbing anymore, then what do they do now for fun?
My clubbing days are long gone and I can't see me setting foot in a club again. Not because I have a problem with it but because no one I know is really into clubbing any more. I do, of course, have very fond memories of my clubbing days, but while I do enjoy a good night out, these days it doesn't involve a nightclub!
I can't say for certain but I've had an inkling that post-Covid, a lot of people - even the young ones - don't frequent clubs as much as they used to. But I think it's more to do with costs than anything else. It wasn't so bad back in the day but now a night out can cost a small fortune!
My guess is that people have replaced nightclubs with pubs; bars; restaurants, cinemas and gigs. Basically a lot of the things I like to do!
