Those of you who used to watch Children's BBC after school will be very familiar with The Broom Cupboard - a fun, quirky presentation format between children's programs.
I didn't get to watch a great deal of CBBC due to after school activities but I always got home just in time to catch the tail end of the Broom Cupboard segment just before they signed out to make way for Neighbours (I hated it whenever I missed Neighbours!)
The presenters I remember the most were Philip Schofield, Andy Crane, and Andi Peters. They sometimes had special guests on, and I loved it when it was one of the cast of Neighbours - which happened quite a bit during panto season!
What are your memories of The Broom Cupboard? And who were your favourite presenters?
My favourite was Toby Anstis. He was such a sweetie and I did have quite a crush on him :)
I was a big fan of the two Andies - Andi Peters and Andy Crane. No idea what Andy Crane looks like now as I haven't seen him on TV in years but Andy Peters still manages to look exactly the same nearly thirty years later. Wow! Wonder if I can manage that! 😁
I think Phillippa Forrester also use to be in the Broom Cupboard if I'm not mistaken. They didn't have many female presenters. I think Phillippa, Like Philip Schofield left because they wanted to do grown up telly and escape the kids tv presenter tag. I often had activities after school so I usually got in in time for Newsround and of course Neighbours.
