Before I begin with my question, I would like to start off by saying that I'm not really much of a soap fan. Not anymore anyway. Especially as there are so many wonderfully good quality dramas out there. But being a real-life Eastender, Eastenders was naturally one that I've dipped in and out of over the years (and no it's nothing like the real East End!) I have to say though that I was very intrigued by this year's anniversary episode (golly, 38 years of Eastenders already!) From what I understand, Eastenders has never done this type of 'flashforward' scene or this type of storyline. As someone who is a real film lover and even studied it at university for a while, I have to say that the little glimpse that they showed us as to what's in store for us this Christmas is crossing over from traditional soap territory and is quite filmic in quality. Not only will we have a whodunnit to solve by Christmas but also a whoisit as we have yet to discover the identity of the body by the Queen Vic bar! I have to say I'm rather impressed and suitably intrigued to the point that I may tune in on a more regular basis to see exactly what happens at Christmas!
So just for fun, I thought we could jot down who we think the murderer is... and who the dead body on the floor belongs to!
Even though Denise is stood there with what appears to be the murder weapon, a broken bottle, I don't believe she's the killer. My guess is it's either Stacey or Suki. And I don't know why but I can't shake off the feeling that the body is that of Phil Mitchell!
It would appear to me that so many of you enjoyed this storyline. It's certainly got so many of you talking about it! 😀 The Flashback storyline will definitely be one that goes down in Eastenders history as it's something that had never been done before. It seems though that not too many of you are pleased with the aftermath!
Agree with the comments from people who are saying that current storylines are verging on the ridiculous. We've all enjoyed the build-up to the big reveal of this storyline. But after Keanu was killed by Linda it became a farce! The women running around Walford in their heels and wedding finery trying to dispose of his body. As Kim would say, do me a favour! And now it's got sillier still. I still can't understand why they didn't just call the police. After all there were six women who could coroborate the same story and there was evidence that he had attacked Sharon. Ridiculous!
I have to say I was very impressed with the Cjristmas day episode. It definitely lived up to all the hype in my opinion. I really loved the twist and didn;t see it coming at all. We were all so focused on who the body on the floor of the pub might be, but it was the body in the hallway that we needed to be more concerned about! As I said, really didnt see that coming!
Wow! Just wow is all I have to say!
Oh golly gosh, tonights the night. After almost a year we finally find out who did what to who.
I'm sure there's going to be a bigger twist than the ones we're expecting. Can't wait!
And I can't even hazard a guess who the killer/victims are going to be. I change my mind every five mins!
OK, here's how I think it would go:
VICTIM KILLER?KILLERS MOTIVE
Jack Denise/Stacey Crime of passion!
Rocky Kathy Cafe fire
Phil Sharon Albie's paternity
Dean Linda Rape & harrassment
Sharon Feud with Keanu
Nish Suki Eve's disappearance
Ravi Suki Ranveer's death
Denise Ongoing feud
Keanu Sharon Abie's kidnapping
I'm sure there's more possibilities though!
I think I've worked out whose body it is. I think it's Keanu. We saw him swear on his life to Phil that he had nothing to do with Albie's kidnapping. We remember what happened when Sharon swore on both had dad and son's lives that she wasn't lying. Neither of them are still around! Also Karen made a distasteful comment about Keanu outliving Sharon on account of her age. I think she was tempting fate there.
So I'm quietly confident that Keanu is the one who dies at Christmas. Let's see if I'm right!
I'm beginning to think that the body might be Theo's. So that has to make Stacey the murderer and could explain the blood on her hands?
Does anyone else think that this storyline has some connection with the new family that have moved into the Vic? The dad seems a bit dodgy to me. Perhaps it's him who ends up on the floor of the pub. And everyone seems to be dead certain that his ex wife is the supposedly soon to return Cindy Beale!!!
Watch this space indeed!
I have to say I'm not the avid soap fan I once were. But I'm very curious about this latest plot so I've been watching EE a lot more than I usually do. The Christmas soaps were always a big tradition in our house when we were growing up. We'd watch them all. The storylines were especially good at Christmas but over the last decade or so that's all started to slide and I have to say I've found a lot of the Christmas episodes very underwhelming. I'm hoping this year's Eastenders Christmas special will take us back to the days when we all enjoyed such episodes - a lot more than we do now!
It's pretty clear by now that Sharon is marrying Keanu. But while everyone's certain the body is either that of Nish or his son, I disagree. The man is clearly quite formally dressed, and the cufflinks make me think that he's one of the wedding party - So that rules out Nish and Ravi.
As for who the killer is well I really don't think it's Linda, as when she walks out into the bar area, the body is already there. I'm thinking Stacey or Suki. I believe Denise holding the broken bottle is a red herring.
I'm really hoping that the corpse belongs to either Nish or Ravi. They're without a doubt two of the most arrogant men ever to walk onto the Square - and that's saying something. But that said the actors who play them are doing a great job in getting us to hate them - a bit like Charlie Brooks who played Janine.
Though I have to say, that Ravi!!!! No wonder Denise wanted to go there! 😁
How about we just get rid of the whole cast in one giant mass exodus? Maybe Dirty Den could come back from the dead and get his revenge on the Square!
Well after last night's episode it's quite clear who Sharon is marrying!
A lot of people are saying that Phil is the dead body in the Vic. If he is then that can only leave, Sharon, Kathy and Denise as the suspects as Stacey, Linda and Suki have no reason to kill Phil.
But me, I'm wondering if the dead body is Ravi. He seems to be quite a dangerous character. My guess is he went one step too far and one of the ladies finished him off. Right now he's got major beef with Denise. She's the one holding the murder weapon and she looks like she's in total shock more than the other ladies.
Ooh, they're doing everything they can to keep us guessing! This is what I think:
Groom - Keanu
Victim - Jack
Killer - Denise
Let's see this December how many I got right! 😁
Eastenders was one of the shows I got into when I moved back to Britain in the nineties, so I still try to keep up with it now, work and family allowing! So I will definitely be tuning in this Christmas to see whodunnit and whoitis!
First of all I'm pretty sure that Keanu is the groom. Who else could it be! Though the real question is, why aren't Phil and Kat getting married as they'd already set the date for Christmas.
From what I've read, the cast are also in the dark about all the details so clearly the body that we saw was just a stand in actor and not the real victim. Could this mean that even the writers haven't decided who it is???
I've heard about this latest storyline and sorry, call me pessimistic but it's bound to be a washout. I've seen Eastenders do this before where they have this gripping storyline, and they get everyone all excited and the conclusion is always less than satisfactory. Take the who killed Lucy storyline. Oh please murdered during a squabble with her little brother, and then had her body dumped on a common by her stepmum. I don't think so. Then there was the riverboat disaster where Dennis Rickman Jr. died and I though it was awful that they killed off a child. Recently we had Mick's disappearance. Many of us sussed that Mick was going to be killed off but now it looks as though he's just missing at sea so he'll be back at the Vic within a couple of years.
I realize I sound whingy but I don't have high hopes for this storyline. Sorry!
Colonel Mustard in the billiards room with the candlestick! 😉
While everyone's trying to work out the killer and the victim, why isn't anyone asking who on earth it is Sharon is marrying this time??? We thought it was going to be Kat and Phil getting married - but Sharon's the one in the wedding dress! So either she's marrying Phil again or it's Keanu.
Apparently if you watch the clip that played out at the end of the anniversary episode, there's a lot of clues there to be analyzed. I'm actually wondering if the victim could be Alfie? Think about it, since being back he hasn't had much of a role and just flits about the Square. Plus he's often up to no good even if it is unintentional a lot of the time. Maybe it all caught up with him. But which one of the six women would want him dead? If anyone, it would be Kat!
One of the actresses, I think it was Kellie Bright did say that she didn't know if the victim was a major character or a newcomer and that's something a lot of people haven't considered. Perhaps the dead person is a new character we've yet to meet.
As for who the killer is well I'm guessing it's Stacey. After all she did kill Archie in The Vic with the Queen Vic bust. Who's to say she hasn't done it again?
