The 2022 Logies Awards ceremony was held a few days ago in Australia. It's not really something that makes the news over in the UK but we have heard the disgruntled mutterings regarding the tribute for Neighbours that was put on during the ceremony. And some of these complaints came from certain members of the Neighbours cast. Ryan Maloney who plays Toadie even went on radio and didn't hold back. I do agree that shoving the Neighbours cast at the back of the room where they couldn't be seen or see the stage was not particularly nice. But I don't think the tribute itself was necessarily awful.
Or have I missed something?
I didn’t watch this as I watch very little current TV, and I don’t think I’ve watched the Logies for at least 15 years, so at the risk of not seeing it, I don’t think serials/soapies are ever really held in high regard or high esteem by certain sections of the media, when you read some of the garbage they have written over the years, regardless of how long-running and popular they may have been. And this applies to the 70s, 80s, 90s and beyond. Neighbours would be no exception. It could have ran for 100 years, and it would make no difference, regardless of how many people it brought enjoyment to.
