Welcome to Nostalgia Pie! This blog was first created in 2011 and this is it's third incarnation. I'd like to think this one is the biggest, boldest, baddest, brightest and best version, and what I'm most excited about is that this blog comes complete with a forum where all us nostalgia addicts can congregate and talk about... the good ol' days (sigh!)

 

I first came up with the idea of starting a blog shortly after my wedding when I moved across the pond, and further across the USA, to the West Coast. Feeling horribly homesick. I immersed myself in a bunch of British television programs, mostly old long-forgotten shows that made me go, "I remember that!"

From then on I moved on to long forgotten bands... vintage magazines... old school toys... you name it, if it was from the seventies, eighties or nineties, I was all over that! And then I hit upon the idea of starting a blog. I wondered if there were any other people out there who felt all nostalgic and wistful when they thought about things from their childhoods and teen years. And what do you know - there was!

I played around with a few blog names before I came up with the name Nostalgia Pie. At first I was going to call this blog the very imaginatively titled "A Trip Down Memory Lane." Then I ditched it in favour of "Comfort Food For The Soul" except that was too much like Chicken Soup! When I finally I came up with Nostalgia Pie, I remember feeling like I'd chosen the perfect name and no other one would do - a lot like when parents have found the perfect name for their child (so I've been told!)

So Nostalgia Pie was born and it really was the perfect name because like pie, nostalgia is warm, comforting, and tastes great. And of course it is especially yummy when cut in thick wedges and served with an extra large helping of cream on top! Yes I've heard people say that like pie, too much nostalgia can be bad for you - but I've yet to find that out! 

 

 Let's just savour the delicious taste of pie!
