I was a teenager in the 1990s. And like all teenagers back then, I used to put posters up on my bedroom wall and I continued to do so well into my late teens. I used to have posters of Will Smith, Tevin Campbell, Ralph Tresvant, Boyz II Men, Jodeci, RKelly, Aaliyah, and Jodeci. There may have been more but I can't remember. I was a huge fan of 1990s American RnB so a lot of the posters I had were of RnB and hip hop artists. I used to by magazines like Essence or Touch which were really expensve but they were the only ones that were more aimed at my kind of music whereas the more teeny magazines were not. When I left home I suppose my mum took all the posters down. It doesn't matter so much but it would have been nice to have kept them just for memory's sake.
I would like to know if any of you here used to put up posters. And if you did, who were they off? Also I don't think teenagers today put up posters. Or do they? I know my son didn't.
Sure I did. Pearl Jam. Nirvana. Alice in Chains. The Cure. HIM. Lacuna Coil. I was into those kind of artists at the time. Still am actually but I'm a bit beyond the posters stage now. LOL!
Yes I did. I loved New Kids and Jason Donovan so while I didn't go completely mad, I did have quite a few posters on my bedroom walls.
I absolutely did put up posters! I started from the time I was about 12 I think. My mum wasn't so impressed and thought it was silly but I still did it. I had Soul II Soul, Bobby Brown, Paula Abdul, Boyz II Men, Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Cathy Dennis, 2Unlimited and lots lots more. I was always chopping and changing. After I left to go to university, my poster addiction kind of dwindled. I'm not sure about teenagers and posters now. I know one of my nephews has some kind of video game posters up and that seems to be it.
Did I put up posters? Heck yeah I did! I'm sure it'll come as no surprise that I had New Kids posters. But there was also Kylie, Jason, Bros, Bad Boys Inc. Sonia, Westlife and Boyzone. But yeah most of my wall space was reserved for New Kids on the Block.
Definitely. Nsync. Westlife, Tom Hardy... and horses!
I definitely did. My daughter who's now in her twenties did as well so there are people of her generation and younger who are still adorning their walls with posters. But they probably don't plaster them all over the walls like we did! 😁
I had posters of Jason Donovan, Bobby Brown, Soul II Soul, Let Loose, Take That, New Kids, Bad Boys Inc, Boyzone, various male teen male models - the lot!
Haha! I may have been the only teenager NEVER to have posters up in my room.
I used to put up posters too. As well as the usual pop and film stars, I also liked to put up cute animal posters as I'm such an animal lover. And let's face it, who wouldn't want to have a poster of kittens and puppies on their wall?
Did I put posters up on my wall? Of course I did! I was an eighties teen! It was something we all did. One of the great things that I liked about buying magazines was seeing which posters you were going to get that week. I was hardly ever disappointed. The only disappointing thing was that I didn't have enough wall space sometimes. Plus I shared a room with my sister so I had to accommodate her poster collection to. I had posters of Duran Duran, Spandau Ballet (yep, I liked them both!) Adam Ant, Michael Jackson and Prince. There were loads more as well. I liked Take That but by the time they came along, I were well over the poster stage!
I know my stepkids have some kind of posters up but definitely not to the extent that me and my friends did.
Whose posters weren't up on my wall! It's well known that I'm a Blockhead so obviously I had lots of New Kids posters up. There was also Kylie; Jason; many other Neighbours actors, male models; the guys from BH90210; Bad Boys Inc...
I loved my poster collection and aimed to cover every inch of wall space. My mum, however, was not so happy about that!
I was very much into rock, indie and alternative bands so I had a lot of those types of people on my walls. Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, Smashing Pumpkins, Nirvana, Metallica and so forth.
Oh sure, I did! It was mostly Take That. I was a mad Thatter. The boys still have a place in my heart. Haha! For a while I also had posters of Jason Donovan, Jason Priestly and very short-lived boy band Orange Orange.
No idea if kids still put posters up on their wall. My kids are not at that stage yet. But when you think about it, we used to get most of our posters from teen mags. And lets face it, teenagers today don't buy teen magazines the way we used to.
