Just been able to catch up with the Jubilee episode of Easties. I'm more of a Corrie girl but I had to watch Eastenders when I heard that the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall were making a special appearance as part of the show's special episode to mark the Queen's platinum jubilee. And by golly - didn't they do well!
I found it to be well written and quite moving as well. You could see the that the awe from those gathered around them was from the actual actors themselves and not from the characters they were meant to be playing. More episodes like this please, EastEnders.
And just to let you into a little secret even though I know it'll sound like I'm bragging. But I actually meant the Duke of Cornwall many years ago when he paid a visit to our offices. And I have to say - we were a lot like the residents of Albert Square let me tell you!
I'm also not what you would call a royalist much like a lot of you here. But I thought the scenes were very good and that Charles and Camilla did very well. Also for this British girl living in Oz, it was a lovely reminder of home. You can't get more British than the royals now can you?
