This is another post I need to thanks Sir David of Retrohenshire for! His post about Heinz products that are no longer produced made me think about all kinds of food items and brands that once filled our fridge-freezer and kitchen cupboards but are now sadly no more. These have included:
Gino Ginelli Toffee Fudge ice-cream (and I'm not even really a toffee ice-cream person anymore!)
Tree Top Orange squash that we always served out when we had visitors!
Findus Crispy Pancakes
Mingles Mint chocolates. We had a box every Christmas and Dad would practically demolish the lot!
Heinz tinned puddings that Sir David talked about in his post and that was the subject of an early forum post on Nostalgia Pie.
The Golden Wonder crisps brand...
...and many, many more! Which food products and brands from your younger years would you like to see resurrected?
I left England a long time ago so don't really know what is or isn't available now but does anyone remember those toast toppers? I know those aren't available now. They came in these cute dinky little tins in various flavours. I loved the ham and cheese. They were great for a snack or a light supper. Sometimes we'd also put them on jacket potatoes. Delicious!
I came across a post for these fruit sundaes and I can't believe I forgot all about them. Whenever we'd visit England my sister and I used to fill up on these like there was no tomorrow. We'd also take some back to France with us. I can't believe Mr. Kipling got rid of them!
The St. Michael's brand at M&S. They've rebranded as Marks and Spencer but I feel there was more quality and more variety when it was St. Michael's!
I'm sure there's loads but just of the top of my head, I'd have to say Cadbury's Dream bars. I love white chocolate.
Golden Wonder! Now that's a delicious, trusted brand I grew up with. yep, I wouldn't mind seeing them make a comeback.
Although for me it's not really about brands but food items going back to how they used to taste years ago. These days the recipes have been changed up, ingredients are switched with cheaper alternatives and its become a whole new product. Take things back to how they used to be please!
